I have a brand new set that i am going to install..most likely at first i will use the stock bulbs that came with it..then i will put an HID kit in it. I know either bulb will have the same result but how bad is the RHD pattern? Ive heard many stories where people have not had issues and did not have to do the "opening and cutting out shield mod". Then others say there is no way around it...Let me know what i am going to be expecting when i install them.
thanks in advance

The basic problem is that lights are designed to shine some extra light high up on the side away from oncoming traffic, to light up signs, etc. Thus, in the US, a pair of headlights makes a pattern like this: __/ __/
However, in Japan & the UK, the oncoming traffic is on the right side, so their lights make a pattern like this: \__ \__ As you can see, the extra left-side high-up light from JDM lights will shine right into oncoming drivers' eyes in the US and blind them, causing accidents. Check out the Electrical & Lighting Forum -- that's where to look for info on lights, HIDs, etc. |
