Default HR/ Anyone around here have a wideband?

I would like to see were my air fuels are before I turn the boost up. Anyone around here have lambda I could use/rent/borrow for a day?

Now that I think about... the Grand Prix "club" I was in around here would all go in on parts like scan tools and things like that to cut down on cost. They were community parts that people got in line for use. Do you guys do anything like this? Kinda makes since to me.

A few people have them, but they are part of their cars and not something to give away or have others use. Plus, you need a Cobb/Helix/custom downpipe to use one so if you don't have a wideband downpipe, you can't use it even if you wanted to as the ONLY place a wideband can go is post turbo.

The problem with community parts is money and people being asshats and making community parts, their parts. I wouldn't trust anyone with a $300 wideband unit.

AaronWRX had an experiment with his TUNA that involved swapping it to another car. I was the guinea pig! Besides the cost and hassle, it did work out. However, like Ron said, it is not something I would do for just anyone.

A wideband is a good investment anyway, and once you install it, you won't want to keep taking it on and off. I guess you are starting to see the differences with Subarus. Not only are the parts more expensive, but they are not as "swapable" as other cars.

EDIT: Whavever happend to the community toolbag?

I remember some asshat ran off with Ron's bling torque wrench

My 300 exhaust has the bung in the DP for the wideband sensor. There's one in the uppipe too although not sure why you would put one there.

I guess there's always the risk of "losing" community parts. I just figured with the older more responsible crowd being involved, it might be something that could work.

As far as removing and installing the Wideband. I was talking about a shop type unit. NOt really one that you "install" in a car and leave there.

With what I've got on my car already and the possible risks there are (especially with my EM), its time to pick up some scanning and monitoring gear I guess.

That's for an EGT probe I think.

Any info on the wideband installation?
