Hello Everyone!

I think many of you have long awaited news about the second annual RALLYRPI RallyCross Event that we're planning on hosting.

I'm starting the head count really early this year to get a good estimate of how many people will be attending.

Last Year's Thread is located Here

Last Year's Results with Media

A short video clip from Last year

Latitude: 43.41439
When: Oct 1st 2006
Who: Anybody who is rally worthy
Information:
Early-Registration ~$45/Car (cost may reduce once the budget is drafted)
Normal Registration ~$55/Car (cost may reduce once the budget is drafted)
Operation is Non-Profitable and based on meeting minimum event cost
Normal Registration Amount may change depending on Early-Registration Outcome

Condition
Grass, Two small hills surrounding a valley, ~<1 mile course

Rules& Classes (We might do a hybrid NASA/SCCA rule again):
AWD - Rally Prepped
AWD - Street
2WD - Rally Prepped
2WD - Street

We're aiming for the same types of sponsorship efforts to cover our media, t-shirt, and trophies. We had a total of 12 trophies to give out and everyone got a t-shirt and a copy of a media CD containing pictures of every competitor including a folder with a dozen video clips. We're also looking for Redbull to bump music again with their army truck and loud speakers.

Let the talks being. I will like to know people's interest and committment, suggestions and feedback, and also if you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact me by PM'ing me.

Regards,
Dominic Gus Lin

Gus dude!

Man this event was a blast. Awesome course and awesome people. Got in some great seat time on a surface that was forgiving but held up well to the abuse.

Please count me in provided I don't end up with a schedule conflict.

+1 for an awesome event!

I'm in Gus, but be forewarned I'm bringing out the big guns this time. No borrowed STI's this year.

Not going to promise that!

But, provided the Arrow survives that long, plan on a 27 year old, 1.6L RWD rally car. That should equalize things a little.

So a little update.

I've initated talks with RedBull. They're very interested in helping us out for this event.

Also, I'm still waiting for contacts from other sponsors or new sponsors who would like to help us out with this event.

I've started a preliminary headcount list on the first post.

I'm also going to open up this rallycross course design to anyone who would like to contribute and learn a few things this time around. Any suggestions as to what type of course you guys like to see?

Regards,
Gus

I'd be more apt to commit closer to the event date but I'm interested! Especially if I can room with AngryBlueRS!

More yumps and water crossings!

Note to Sean: Sure think so long as you don't mind sleeping on the in-laws couch with a cat on your head.

I would be interested and would bring atleast one. But I won't be able to commit to a definate till closer to the date.

One of the joys of a 10 year old rally X beater is not knowing if it will be running in six months

Very cool, please help spread the word on to your friends and anyone you think will be interested in attending.

Funny I haven't seen Mike Kamm on the forums recently.

Another thing: Do you want a vendor to provide lunch?

Also, more inputs on course design please. I will entertain the Jump and Water Crossings if people can tolerate the cruching front bumper and engine flooding. :P

That or a roach coach or something similar would be cool. If folks don't have to split for lunch we can get in more runs.

As for Mike, you know those ice racing guys, they hibernate for the Spring.
