A near-record 17,000+ students just descended on Corvallis this week. (I work at OSU). It's freakin' crazy around here. Traffic's suddenly completely nuts, and some yahoo yelled out "R1cer!!!" at me as I drove by. Sigh.

Campus isn't nearly as peaceful, but I have to admit it's kinda fun to watch you guys (and girls) scurry around

I am pretty sure they started letting 12 year olds into college though -- It couldn't possibly be me that's gotten old

Good luck in your scholarly endeavors!

School does not suck. A good education goes a long way. How do you feel about making $5 an hour at a fast food joint? Without a couple of degrees from the UW, I would not have my 2.5RS and Typhoon now. The years I spent sitting in lectures and 520 traffic really paid off.

Well, excuse my original post. I guess it's perfectly fine to aim low in life. I guess it's fine to tell your children and grandchildren not to worry about getting good grades in school because they won't have to go to college, and that they are guaranteed to make $6.72 or whatever an hour.

I'm glad I do not share your outlook in life.

All they're doing by raising the minimum wage is increasing the cost of living, so in effect, they're just raising the poverty line... It's an ongoing cycle that can't be fixed by simply increasing the minimum.

As far as school goes, I'm not ready to go back, it was just a month ago that I got out of summer class (biggest mistake I ever made, take my advice, don't take summer quarter).

How do you like Western? All of my friends that went there (except one) either transfered schools, or failed out and are going to community college now (if they keep this up they'll be back in high school next year). I've been up there a few times, it's a nice campus but I'd have to say I like UW better... Just my opinion.

I am so ready to go back. I've spent the last 6 months working and I have a hard time keeping myself busy after work. It'll be nice to be busy again.
