Default numbers for cobb street cams

Yes, i've done a search on this, but everyone's quoting straight from cobb's site and stuff. Not that i don't trust him, I thnk he's doing a great job researching on our engines. i just want numbers from other sources. Kind of like a survey

I'm looking into cams as my next mod for my car

I'm interested in awd dyno results from other people and actual 1/4mi (no g-tech -- yea, i know they're good to give ballpark figures) times from before and after the cams were installed.

If anyone could please post comments, experiences and numbers, it would be much appreciated, thanks..

Victor

Victor, I can tell by your question that you won't be happy with the Cobb street cams. They are not about radical power increases. If I had to guess, I would say they would take less than half a second off a quarter mile time.

The stock RS cam feels like it was designed for towing, not racing. The Cobb street/mild cam fixes that, fills in the 4000 rpm hole and gives a little more on top. It pulls strongly to redline, but doesn't LEAP to redline like a real high-performance camshaft.

but real racing cams will kill gas mileage.

well, i love the low end grunt of the engine, i just want more top end without sacrificing the low end and eventually probably strap on a low boost turbo if i want even more power...

That's what I did. The Cobb street cams match perfectly with the turbo. Even with boost, you still have to get the stuff into and out of the cylinders.
