Default TMIC on EJ20G issues

For anyone looking into upgrading there TMIC on there EJ20G thing of this.
The chagre pipe coming from the turbo going to the IC will hit your clutch master cylinder and sit on it. what you will need to do is when you are bolting it down is to push it over as far away as you can from it(twords pasanger side) and then tighten the clamps.

IF you notice none of my IC mounting bracket bolts are in place due to this.

Im not sure if this is the case w/ other TMIC, but my ARC is deff. having this problem.

same problem with me. STI V2 slanted intercooler on 93L converted to hydraulic MC. I have to use a plastic bag and elastics as the MC cap!

the lower pipe is set up in sutch a way that a soft pipe wont make a diff.
so anyone got a good idea on what to use for a cap, something that wont melt.

i got the TMIC from a buddie of myne, and the thing has been on about 3local cars before i got it, so i dont remember any spring. and i was actualy the one to take it of the engine that it came on(the swap from japan) and it didnt have anything like it on there eather.
And no can do on the underside picture of the IC, thats the best i could get w/ it still being on the car...not much room to work with.

99wrx, nice rotated mount settup. what turbo is that.

actually my friend, think of all that piping a front mount has, that is lag, its all bling, the best combo is a nice topmount with a watersprayer or co2, trust me..... ive had both

oh and not to mention, you have to re-route a/c lines if you go front mount.

i would say that most of us swappers don't have any AC at all :P so don't think that would be a problem

And so have I. Top mounts are ok for mild upgraded cars or usdm swaps. But with the older ej20gs ecu's a FMIC is almost needed. My ecu would retard timing and run like 6psi any time I sat at a stop light. Heat soak is a bitch and lag is way overhyped.

I finished the front mount install a couple weeks ago. The gains are very noticeable, in fact now my clutch slips as soon as it hits boost in 3rd gear and up (I already had a new Exedy stage 2 standing by, installing it next week). I'd already scrapped my AC core a while back, so that wasn't standing in my way. Overall, I've been very happy with the results.

Here's a couple pics:

what FMIC is that? I've been looking into getting one for an Ej20G nobody makes one... I was thinking of going completely custom and I guess I still might depending on the price of an FMIC for an Ej20G

so i went ahead and made a bracket that ataches(sp?) to the driver side of the IC and the engine bracket. took the pressure of the resevor so now its all dandy .

And TMIC are awsome for solo2, and thats what this car is actualy for...even w/ a td04, in 1st and 2nd gear this thing is an animal.
