Default Speedo corrections needed? 6MT into 02 WRX

If I put a stock 2004 STi 6MT and R180 rear diff into my 02 WRX, will the stock 02 speedometer cluster be accurate? As in I just plug in the speedo wire/connector and all is good?

I have a feeling that the tranny sensor outputs the correct signal and no changes are necessary, but I haven't seen that expressly written anywhere. Yes, I searched. If I missed it, could you please provide a link or search terms to use?

Thanks for your help!
