Default Cobb Stage 1/2 and Mass Emissions

Anyone tried to pass Massachusetts emissions with a Cobb AccessPORT at Stage 1? How about Stage 2? I have an '04 STi at Stage 1, about to go Stage 2 and don't know if I'll need to reflash the ECU to pass for the Stage 1 and don't relish having to pull the turboback and reflash from Stage 2 in the future. Thanks.

As far as I know, Stage 1 is no problem, since you don't change your exhaust. Stage 2 can bring problems if you go entirely catless, since that is technically illegal. But, Stage 2 w/cats shouldn't have any problems.

Catless just fails visual though right? As long as as they don't notice and it passes the OBD-II scan, you'll be ok.

The problem is, a turbo-back will be too loud, and you'll fail for that instead. Emissions should be fine though. I'm hoping to test drive a stage 2 soon, so I'll bring my OBD-II scanner and see if you should be ok.

ive passed w/ both...

punched out center cat. visual looks ok and comes up clean on OBD scan...now on ECUTek and get the same.

I passed w/o problems running Cobb Stg 2 map, Cobb catted dp, and SPT exhaust.

i am runing the vf-34 map and i passed with a full 3in turbo back.

it really depends on the shop when it comes to the sound but as long as it's resonable and you have a cat(for visual) and a good tune you shouldn't have a problem
