Default Cobb stage 2.5 map - reliability

For those with cobb stage 2.5 kit, how is your car operating with OTS v1.30 map and upgrades in terms of mechanical reliability. I am thinking about either using the rather "conservative" 2.5 map or getting a custom Protune.

My only concern is having a reliable 250-260whp WRX even if it's not optmized in terms of making big power. All I care is having a reliable car with enough power to pull on stock STi

Lastly, my car is also equipped with STi TMIC and a header. Will Cobb stage 2.5 map be suitable or will custom map be necessary? I will be getting pinks and VF34.

I've been running the Cobb 2.5 map since july of last year with pinks and a VF39. A couple of months ago, I added a STI TMIC. I also beat the piss out of it every day. It does run rich, but I haven't had a single problem with it. The cool weather here has been really beneficial since we only get 91 octane... with the 93 you should be fine. You should be able to pull on a stock STI once you get it all set up.

I don't know about headers since I don't have em.

My car running great with the OTS 1.3 map, VF30, STI IC. Smooth and with good power (butt dyno) I know it has some power to be made, but it has been reliable (knock on wood). You want to pull a stock STI? it has much better gearing and more torque, and where can you find a stock STI?

Interesting you are running VF30/34 map on a VF39. How many miles do you have on your car since the upgrade?

Did you guys have to upgrade the plugs to a one step colder one? I do not recall Cobb requiring them as part of Cobb stage 2.5 upgrade...

I've been running the OTS map since Wednesday with no problems. OK, I know that doesn't mean crap, but initial impressions are very good. It does run a little rich though at WOT. New plugs are not required.

The OTS maps are designed to work in a variety of locations under a wide range of weather conditions and meant to be able to account for variations in cars. A ProTune is not required, but will adjust for your specific car.

been running mine since I bought my car new, installed it at 10k and now I have 40k on the ots map. I run it hard in the canyons and wide open roads and it's still running great. I changed my plugs for 1 step colder just in case, didn't need a fuel pump either unless you're getting a protune to compensate for the rich mixture.
