Hi everyone! I wish I had the money to have a Forester on top of my Impreza!

Ys, that would be awesome, wouldn't it... A Forester and an Impreza RS...

Oh yeah, I forgot, I have both. Well, my wife has the '00 RS Sedan (with Tein soft springs, rear strut bar, and 18mm rear sway bar so far) and I have the poster child of ForesterPerformance... but close enuff...

If you don't hate me yet, here's some more fodder for ya. Sold my 1997 Shadow ACE 1100 m/c last month and bought a new project, a '92 Miata. Now that thing HANDLES! Sheesh.

Or did SubaFastR mean he literally wanted a Forester sitting on the roof of his RS. Iknow they are structurally sound and all, but at the very least that would put an undue strain on the sunroof, don't you think?

Why not spend the money on a turbo on your Forester? Are you a wuss?

Yes, I am a wuss. It is my daily driver, and while I pondered getting a turbo for it, I decided against it. I will be putting the greddy turbo kit in the Miata this spring. So sorry, but getting to work is a priority, and paying premium gas prices to commute in a vehicle that only gets a bout 19mpg (and a 30mile each way commute) is not my idea of fun... Now a 200hp Miata... that's fun.

And who cares if your title says Scooby specialist or now? If 500 of your 555 posts were drivel just to get a title, you still won't know anything useful, and inside, where it counts, you'll still be a Scooby Newbie, and we'll all still make fun of you behind your back.

I would buy a WRX sedan for the wife in a second, but she likes big cars. Gotta wait for that Blitzen to replace her 626 V6/5 speed.

BTW, we have a lot in common. I have a 1.6l Miata bought used and a Forester daily driver bought new. That's a pretty remarkable coincidence, no?

I'm considering a Greddy Turbo for the Miata, too. Did you know group buys go as low as $1080? That's for a starter kit, but a low boost/high compression engine sounds like fun. Not quite 200hp, though.

Now, why are Subie turbo kits $5 grand? I know they aren't as common (there are half a million Miatae on the road), but Jeez.

They make a great team. Take the Miata for short errands in nice weather, and the Forester for longer drives, rain, snow, or any time you need the space.

From LUDESpeed, the Subie turbo kit is like $2500. (I think that includes the intercooler, but I may be wrong...)

As for the Miata Greddy kit, I did not know they could be had that cheap. I will be on the lookout for a group buy come March / April... Also, I have a Mitsu Starion Intercooler waiting for me, so I should be able to run 8psi boost without much trouble (just an ignition retard, Sequential b/o valve, and RRFPR). That should be good for about 185-195hp at the rear wheels, (240 or so at the crank, right?)

Very cool.

I know the Forester is Green, Juice, but what color is the Miata? (Both my Forester and my Miata are white)...

How about combining a one part WRX and one part Forester to make an evil machine like this:

That's basically what I was headed towards when (a) I ran out of cash and (b) I realized that RELIABILITY should be my biggest concern in a daily driver.

Turbo and speed are great for toys but when they break and you can't make it to work, that sux. Hence the 3rd car (Miata).
