Post coilovers?

Does GC make coilovers for the 2nd gen legacy? Will the impreza ones work?

Thanks

Probably.

I've heard bad things about GCs, especially that the springs can come loose from the lands and cause all kinds of problems when the car gets any air.

This was from a very, very reputable shop.

Mainly, I just want the ride height adjustability for the snow. I just thought that I'd ask coz I read it somewhere on here that someone put a set for the impreza on the legacy, and I saw that they were only $400. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks

Hi

It was possibly me that you read about, I have a GT-B, (twin turbo Legacy wagon with Bilstein Suspension)

I converted my Bilsteins to adjustable coilovers - this meant buying threaded sleeves, adjustable spring mounts and tophats as a kit, the original spring mounts are ground off the struts, then the new sleeves are slid over the struts and welded in place.

You can then buy any 2.25" springs to fit - I have 300/250lb f/r springs with additional 4" helper springs to ensure that I never have any dislocation problems.

The car now handles superbly, I generally run it very low, (cut the bumpstops down to half the height first!!) but we have had bad floods recently so I raised the car by 3-4" (still handles pretty well, but a bit more roll)

My web site has pictures of the setup on Cars=>Legacy=>modifications=>suspension

Well Paul, that'd be nice, but since your car already comes with such a killer suspension in the first place, you've got a definite advantage!

Over here we'd shudder to mar a bistein inverted strut

Nice pics, good to hear it's better, higher and quieter now.
