Default Unmarrying AP w/ damaged battery

I was in an accident with my WRX. The battery is damage/dead. I was thinking of two options:

Hooking up another battery to the WRX.

Running jumper cables from a running car to the WRX.

Which would work better or safer?

Thanks,

Greg

If your battery is physically damanged I wouldn't want to be running jumper cables onto it.

I would not hook the cables to the damaged battery, I would hook them to the battery leads. That should work.

dont hook the cables to a damaged battery and do not hook jumper cables from a running car to just the cables of the wrx. the battery will get really hot and could explode, and running a running car to the cables of another car is a good way to damge both cars.

best and safest way would be to get a new battery for the wrx and unmarry like that.

Seems like a new battery is the safest way to avoid nuking the ECU and my hopes of unmarrying the AP. I assume that any 12v car battery will do, correct?

should try and get one that fits in the correct battery area. but any 12v car battery will do, since you arent going to be running/driving the car.

Just back from where the car is and everything went fine. I was going to throw a new battery in, but the yard connected a battery jump pack to it and it seemed fine. I got the CD's out of the changer and unmarried the AP.
