Default Question: Just got my Cobb Accessport

My car is now Cobb Stage I
I installed it today.. Reset the ECU using the Vinshu?? method about an hour ago... The base map is the 91Oct. Stange I
But switched the map to 93Oct. Stage I

Now my question is , I still don't feel Dramatic difference in power... Is this normal? I see that sometimes the ECU needs to be " learning mode " and can take feww hundred miles of driving... Someone help me?

I took about a hundred miles for me when I first flashed to Stage 1.

Wait til Stage 2.

Yeah for stage II! What piping are you going to choose. Just a suggestion but I would go w/ all of Cobb's piping if you're not going to get it protuned. That's most likely what they use when building their shelf maps and would most likely give best results. If you are getting it tuned then it doesn't matter which pipes you use (so to speak).

Just get the least expensive 3" exhaust you can get...

All you need is a downpipe for Stage 2, but if you're going to be doing all of that installation, you might as well go with the full turbo-back exhaust.

Up pipe = Perrin Catless
Down pipe = Bosal Shorty
And I have the STi Genome Axelback...

Yes, it's somewhat normal for the 1st 100 miles. After that, it should be a LOT smoother and more powAh!

i just got my AP a few days ago and im stage 2 now (also w/ catless UP). damn the power is so much smoother then when i didn't have AP. i didn't feel that big of a difference either in power gain, but it sure as hell is a lot smoother.

The first stoplight I accelerated from felt like I was going to pop a wheelie through the intersection. So I felt a major difference right away. I am at sea level, so maybe that has something to do with it.

stage 1 isnt really any different in terms of increased power before boost comes in i dont think. nothing humongous anyways. just smoother power delivery no more hesitation. its mostly from 3500-redline. thats where i felt the most difference. cant wait to go to stage 2

When I flashed Stage 1 93 octane on my '05 WRX I didn't notice any power increase at all, but what I did notice was that all the little holes in the powerband were filled up, the acceleration was as smooth as glass from bottom to top, and that was worth $605 to me. Everytime I drove the car it felt a little stronger until about a week later when it seemed like a whole different car.

Since my STi powerband was as smooth as glass from the factory, I really didn't notice much of a difference with Stage 2, which really bothered me, but after driving it for about a week I can tell the difference, but honestly, I expected more.

The % of power increase Stage 2 gave my STi feels like the same % of power increase Stage 1 gave my WRX. Part of it is because I installed a down-pipe a few weeks prior, so I got a little bit of gain there, and got used to it, but honestly, I was expecting a LOT more from Cobb Stage 2 on my STi.

Sorry Cobb, but "where's the beef?"

Dyno coming soon...

you'll feel it up high.... turbo won't fall on its face after 6k with stg1... that was the main diff i noticed with stg1

stg2 is a completely diff car.... much better for driving around town

Maybe your butt dyno is broke Good info though. Stage I on a WRX cleaned everything up and Stage II was a nice increase. Feels like a turd when setting back to stock mode. Couple years before I get my STi, but nice to have that info on the STi for fellow Subie drivers I come in contact with

Search for "vishnu ECU learning" or something like that and get it that power quicker!

I noticed a big difference w/ Stage 1 right away -- 5th pulled like 4th did before the flash.

Going to Stage 2 pretty much buys you a whole different car.

I did....

Anyways! , I've been driving around and went a little over than 200miles since the Vinshu ECU reset and Cobb stage I 93 Octane reflash.

You guys are right! my car is learning and I think it's fully learned the new map on my ECU!
The car feels so much smoother and I can actually feel the difference in power! not dramatical power increase but enough to feel the difference..
I did a little test run with 05 WRX with STi 6mt Tranny on the second gear pull on a freeway with NO CARS... and I beat the 05 wrx from the third gear on...
I'm going to cobb stage II this wed. so I'll keep you guys updated!
