Default Engine Hesitation

Hey guys,

I was driving on the freeway recently and I accelerated hard to pass a car in 4th gear at about 75-80mph..

I felt like the engine shut off completely for a second and there was a jerk. But the car went on after that. The CEL came on, but after I restarted the car, the CEL wasn't there anymore... I have been driving the car for about 15000 miles and this is the first time that it has happened... I drove for another 100 miles back home, and the problem did not happen again (even under occasional hard acceleration)

I havent had the chance to go pull the CEL, was wondering if any of you could provide some insight...

I have 40000 miles on the car.

Mods:
SR30 Turbo
Pinks
Perrin fuel rails

I have not made any changes to the config for 15000 miles..

Could it be that engine hit a fuel cut? It happened to me once when I accidently set boost too high on MBC.

What engine management are you using with that turbo and those injectors?

Question

Sounds like Trouble Code (P0244)= Turbo Wastegate Selenoid "A" Range/Performance. Were you watching your boost gauge? Were you under WOT when it happened?

yes it was WOT when it happened - I wasn't watching the Boost gauge.

I have a feeling it might be bad gas - I haven't had the problem since.

I am not too sure what engine management I have - but it allows about 20psi max boost.

I brought it to Autozone but they didnt have the ECU tool. I will try again at another branch and provide an update!

Solenoid range means that you overboosted and hit fuel cut.

this happens to me some times under hard Acceleration coming off corners at the track. I always think my fuel it sloshing around and not getting into the line for a min. It only happens for a few seconds and then it's back on. But sometimes I have to lift off the throttle before it starts to accelerate hard again coming on to the straight away.

I also have a CEL but it's always P0171 "left bank to lean". Don't know if it's my settings or what. Tuner said all systems are go. All my temps seem to be in order (EGT, Fuel Pressure, etc.).

Walbro Pump
ECUTEK

Also it never happens on just freeway pulls in 4th or 5th gear.
