Default Pricing on 2006 Impreza 2.5i Sedan

Hello, I am heavily comtemplating on buying one of these cars in the next month or so. I was just wondering what to expect to pay out the door? Is there alot of movement on the price or is it fairlly firm on MSRP?

Thanks

get them down to invoice or 500 over at the most...subaru dealers will come down easier then most others...edmunds.com will give you the invoice

I couldn't be bothered to go to the states, so I'm just wondering what kind of price you got here in Canada, Alberta to be specific, and what dealership did you get it at. Thanks.

I got mine from Vancouver, invoice + $1000, but don't know about the 2.5i. Both dealership in Edmonton are own by the same people, and they are not a friendly bunch either

You're best bet is either the Subaru shop in Grande Prairie or one of the Calgary dealerships.

You're right though. Saving $4,000-$10,000 (depending on the model) really isn't worth a trip to the States

Thanks for the replys so far everyone.

Hopefully I can sell my car soon and pick up one of these cars.

I'm not saying it's not worth to buy in the states, I just don't want to do that. I'm ok with paying the price here as long as it's somewhat negotiable. That's how impressed I am with these cars esp with our weather

There have been a few guys on the board with positive things to say about carcostcanada.com - I used their service but didn't buy through them. It was worth the money to get a realistic and competive price for negotiations.

Actually a friend of mine hooked me up with a carcostcanada report on a 06 2.5 i, looks like there's not much room between MSRP and invoice according to them.

What do you think is a fair dollar amount for them to make on 1 unit? (They're probably making money on their freight/PDI and documentation fee charges as well)

Only a few hundred bucks made here. Money usually goes to the business office person to pay their wage...

Are you purchasing the car straight up or trading in your current car?

I'm buying the Subaru straight up, no trade. I am selling the car privately.

Well I just bought my subaru from the dealership on 100ave in edmonton (6 months now). I dealt with a chick, cant remember her name now, was a very good experience. I had a line on a subaru in BC from a guy I knew personally that was going to be a couple hundred over invoice. It was blue which I didnt want so bought locally for about 1000 bucks more.

Just my 2 cents but I have a wagon. It has been SOOOO useful, been able to load office chairs, computer boxes that I know would not even fit through the openings in a sedan.

OH subaru city is the dealership.

Must have been Cheryl and buying an RS seems to be a lot better than buying a WRX or STi.

So you payed invoice + 1000? Meaning 629 off MSRP, and about 26200 out the door?

There are no deals on STis and deals on WRXs are rare.

As well, City Subaru screwed up everything they could have when I bought my car there. I'm still kicking myself about a bunch of it.

Ah, i thought it was you Anthony. Joining the Suby club now eh? This is shane with the itr (usually known as CanadianR). I don't know if it'll matter much which dealership you buy from in Edmonton as far as price goes (i have no experience with buying a new car). I highly recommend you get the car serviced at Rally Subaru on the south side, though. They are probably the best dealership in the city as far as service goes.

Hehe, yeah it's me Shane. I'm not 100% sure yet on the suby but it's winning the race so far. I hope to have something new in the next month or so.

Default 2 dealers in Ottawa

offering $1000 and $1300 off respectively on a 06 2.5i. With the invoice $1700 below MSRP, we can get one for $400 over invoice. Carcostcanada's best offer is $800 above invoice, not good at all.

I actually got a deal on my WRX. Basically I looked up the invoice price on car cost canada, then the owner of Richmond Subaru called me and told me he'd give me a good price so I went in. At first he offered me 1200 over invoice but near the end of the month he calls me up and gave me 900 over invoice plus the 750 grad rebate.

Edit: I think the guy owns the Subaru dealership in Calgary too.

FYI: CarCostCanada invoice price for 2006 Impreza 2.5i in Ontario is $21866
amazingly enough, two dealers in my area gave me that same number as their invoice price. No lies from a dealer??? or am I being naive?

In Calgary go to Subaru Calgary, just south of 16th ave on Barlow trail. Technically it is called Meridian drive. It is also Jaguar Calgary and youcan have a look at the Mega Expensive Jaguars too.

Ask for Lynn she knows her stuff and you can get a deal although up front they won't be deal friendly, persist and it will be no problem.

The Price in the states works best for the Legacy Outbacks. Talk to Joe Spitz at cars101.com and he can hook you up with a deal. He is at Cartier Subaru in Seatle.

Maybe you will end up getting a Legacy or Outback 2.5i sedan for the same price as a Impreza 2.5i up here. A little bit of paper work and a slight hassle but in the end you get a better car for less. Although if you want to finance it it would be easier to do in Calgary.
