Default Hood trigger for stock alarm?????

Read this but I am a little confused on the placement of the diode. Also not sure which size to get. The smallest one at Radioshack was a 50v.....will that work? I know it says at least 16v in the Scooby Mods directions.
Has anyone done this?

i'd run down to your local stereo shop and ask for a diode for a trunk pin. the radio shack one may work, but who knows exactly what it's designed for, i've choose them based on current needs. the stereo shop most likely would have a hood pin switch for ya also. the diodes i use for ground triggers is a 1n4004, always worked for me
http://store.americanmicrosemiconduc...FRaKCwodimWHHQ theres a site that has them, check to see if yours is similar, you may have a bigger one for more current, like with parking lights etc. hope this helps

It says "at least a threshold voltage of 16V" so a 50V will be fine. You just want to make sure current doesn't go the one way.

Any of the 1N400x series diodes should work; ask for that at Radio Shack, or try your local car audio/security installer, as wrxint suggested.

Did you ever find a normally closed switch? All the ones I could find at radio shack were normally open.
