Default i've read the FAQ/Buyer's Guide

that was a great write-up. very informative . . . i'm kinda retarded tho . maybe someone can help me out.

i want to keep the stock headunit bcuz i want nothing flashy so i don't get jacked. anyways, what size tweeters will fit in the stock location(ease of installation), and what size/type of speakers can easily fit into the doors? examples would help a lot too . i would also like to have a small sub(like 8 or 10) and amp in the trunk. can that run off the stock HU and still use the factory equalizer adjustment thingy? this prolly sounds stoopid as hell. any help is still help.
thank you oh mysterious masters of all gidgets and gadgets.

Im very new to the audio section but from what ive read the stock HU sucks. Id suggest upgrading it to something with a detachable faceplate if you dont want anything flashy for people walking buy when the car is parked.

if you really read the faq/tutorial.. u would find info about speaker sizes. or flick on search, then put "speaker sizes". I managed to put Polk Momo MMC6500 components in while other could not.. It all depend on how far u would wanna go. I installed these with some mods like cutting the useless plastic border on the speaker mesh (from inside) and removing the speaker's magnet cap.

as far as head units, if you would like to keep it and have new speakers, it would not be wise because your HU aint outputing that much power to ur speakers. But it is possible if you would spend a lil more for an amplifier.

Using a stock HU means you need to look into an 'LOC', search on that in these forums. As for suggestions listing a budget is critical.

If you want to spend a retarded amount of money, keep the stock HU, and have some decent SQ, you could go with a JL Cleansweep.

The Cleansweep is nice but at this point if I was going to spend more money than I should to keep a stock HU I would lean toward the AudioControl LC6, or the LC8 if I wanted a really nice stock HU setup.
