On an upgraded turbo setup (18G, front mount, fuel sytem, catless TBE, accessport/custom dyno tune) would you need to tune the car twice (use two different maps) if you plan on running a high flow cat for the street, and a catless race pipe for the track? or could you just bolt on the race pipe for the track and thats it? (using the same map as the high flow cat setup) thanks for the help - kind of a newb question, but i havent seen an answer anywhere.

I'd think you could run the catted map with the race pipe without problems.
A cat will cause some more exhaust gas back pressure, but if you tune for the catted scerario, conditions are better when running the race pipe, so I think you will be okay. Maybe you won't get every last bit of power out of the catless setup, but you should at least be safe. MIke |

a "custom" tune will always be best. but catless, up to a certain HP will have minimal advantages over a hi-flow cat. some more searching on your part will show what HP range a catless system will have an advantage with.

fantomas - thats what ill be getting, a custom tune (on a dyno). but my question is would i need to switch maps for going to the track (when im catless), or can i just use my high flow cat map for when im catless without problems? -Chris |
