the only 'drama' is what you are creating by posts like this. This is exactly what people mean when they talk about cliques in MAIC. Not everyone's life revolves around what happens on this board, yet a post like this perpetuate the problem. Sorry, some of us are not 'in the know'.

I am on here quite a bit and I don't have a clue what in the hell he is talking about. I must not be a part of the clique either.

There is no clique or secret organization trying to keep you out of the loop. It was simply a reference to one thread.

aaron made a lot more power at ultimate on his own road tune than when he dyno'd at TXS. Take from that what you may.

No, it was more than a simple reference to one thread - it's a perfect example of how people cause problems and what's at the heart of that other thread about the MAIC in general.

I was referring to Dave's dramatizations....no need for it IMHO. He mentioned something, another member asked for more details, and instead of posting what you just did, tried to make it seem as if the member was out of the loop (as most of us apparently are). Please people, try being helpful instead of elitist around here. /rant

You still have a very capable and nice SLR. My Dad has always been a Nikonian, he has had a few F-bodies and some nice lenses. I'm trying to convince him to go digital and Canon so that we can share lenses.

As for me, I've always liked Canon. My first camera was a Canon Snappy 20 (which still works), followed by a Canon T80, then a long break with some crappy P&S, a Canon G5 (when I finally went digital-this decision was based on playing with my Dad's Nikon Coolpix 5700, I just liked the ergonomics of the Canon better), and now the 20D. Yeah it was a pretty hefty chunk of change to plunk down on a camera, then I discovered that the good glass costs even more. Damn expensive hobbies.

Thanks - you photos are good too, you covered some of the angles that I was unaware of, and cars that I did not see, which is cool.

lone wolf, i mainly used my 18-55 for the first like 1/4 of the pics then i switched to my 50mm lens. i cant wait to get some L glass. i love the DOF you got with your pics.
So that Lotus pic was with the 50mm, right? I love that lens, for less than $80, it's fantastic. I just wish it was a little wider, epecially with the crop factor. I like the kit lens too, but I think my next lens purchase is going to either add to my collection with a nice wide L prime, or replace it with a wide angle L zoom. It is true what they say, once you buy L glass, you don't want anything else. I bought my 2.8L 200mm strictly for a Steelers game at Heinz Field, and I absolutely love it.

Thanks, one of the things I wanted to do was play with the depth of field. I tried this at the VA Beach meet awhile ago with the 50mm, but wasn't having much luck.

it's funny....I think there were more pics taken of the Lotus than any other single car there. Every time I see one on the road, I'm awed by the styling.....it's striking as hell and never gets old. If only it was useful for six footers and taller

That was the whole reason I left him AaronWRX's board name...a simple search would have brought up his dyno thread.

Now if I didn't even tell him who it was, then perhaps.

I can't spill all the beans...that's for Aaron to do.

[Edit] And now that he's done it, I can link you:

I see pics of my car in here. I'm glad to see others like it. Mine is the STi in the 2nd posted pic and in the background as the Gallardo is leaving.

I loved the meet, too bad I didn't get to stay too long (guests came to my house around 2ish) or meet many people (too busy gawking and taking pictures). But I did get an A$$load of shots...none of them were very good and the metering is all outta sorts.
