Cool AP - Why? At what cost?

I read many threads stating that the AP by Cobb made their run smooth, but none stating what potential issues could arise from using alternate engine management.

Didnít Subaru provide proper engine management for our cars? If we use an alternate EM map couldnít that potentially hurt our cars overtime? Such as shorter turbo life, trans life, engine life?

WRX should come with AP or Ecutec from the factory.
Does that answer your question?
