Hmm.....I should probably ask what the plan is for people arriving in Sedona - since Im just 1 town away in Cottonwood. Is it like a park & hangout in Sedona thing....or just driving straight thru?

yes 89A is the fun one you speak of.

And we could meet at the Walmart parking lot in flagstaff. Its right off of I-17 or I-40 when coming into flag. I think that is the biggest place everyone knows of. Or we could meet in the Del Taco parking lot.

Either one works for me....name a place and time to meet in Flag. Did we figure out how many Flag people would be meeting up?

Alright, walmat parking lot it is. The group from phoenix is hoping to get to sedona around 10:30-11ish. Anyone know how long it takes to drive 89A to sedona?

Yahoo maps seems to think it takes an hour.

We just have to figure out what time to meet up.

And I dono how many flag people, right now it seems its just you and me. haha. I know we have more.

I was hoping more flagstaff people would post in this thread.

89a to Sedona is definately under an hour...unless we all get stuck behind some broke down RV that can only go 30mph.

I don't even mind if its just 2 meeting in Flag, the trip is fun either way, and I wanna get in more drive time than just a quick trip to Sedona.

I'm trying to get a couple I know with a yelllow bugeye to join us, and they seem interested so far.

Damn. I am trying to decide what I want to do. I live in Tempe, but I am in Prescott right now. I dont know if I want to meet down in phoenix and drive up. Meet in Flag with you guys and drive 89a down. I have never taken that part of 89a. Or take 89a from Prescott to Sedona.

I will see what my suby friend here wants to do :0

Walmart at 9am works.

89a from Flag to Sedona is great - mountains and canyons - lots of twisties.

89a from Sedona to Cottonwood is a little less exciting - but a good relaxing drive for your passengers if you just made them carsick on the previous rollercoaster road...

89a from Cottonwood to Jerome is nice, and the drive thru the small mountain town of Jerome is very scenic and fun.

Then after Jerome, from there to Prescott Valley is like a crazy Gran Turismo track with eleventybillion turns and some are 15mph hairpins.

My girlfriend lives here in Prescott so I will just leave in the morning. Thanks for the offer.

If we decide to meet in Flag I will give you a call.

The only problem with the stretch from Jerome to PV is that the road is ****ty. I think they made it ****ty in a lot of the corners so people do not go fast. I tore my tires up pretty good on some late late night runs through there. Jerome to the new fairgrounds is possible in way under 10 minutes. It is fine if you are just cruisin.

My favorite road so far is White Spar road going out of Prescott. The road has better turns and most of them are banked.
