Default Big Thanks to Clark Turner and Metric Subaru Performance Tuning!!!

I would like to thank Clark Turner and MSPT (Metric Subaru Performance Tuning) for the awesome job they did with my car!!!!

First of all MSPT deserves a medal for the enormous effort that they made in preparing my car for the 3/25/06 dyno day at Pampena Motorsports!!! In three days they were able to accomplish the unthinkable, I know they worked until 1 am the day before the car was delivered.......thank you Dave, Gerry and the MSPT crew!!!!!

Clark flew in from Arizona on Friday night (the 24th) and started to work his magic Saturday the 25th at 9am! There were 11 cars scheduled for this event!

We watched the wizard work his magic all day long and finally after 11 hours of tuning my car was brought on the rollers (at 10:30pm), and despite this being the longest day ever for everyone Clark tuned my car as if it was the first car that day. My UTEC was blank so he methodically created a custom tune for my car that yielded 386whp/374wtq on 100oct at 24 psi!!!!! The show ended at 12am, with Kool-Aid smiles on everyone’s faces!!!!

As fast as he arrived he also vanished, cause he's flight departed Sunday at 8:30 am!!!!

Through out the 15 hours of tuning he was able to maintain a smile on his face and answer everyone’s questions that approached him!

The event was so successful that my fellow subie enthusiasts are already demanding an encore!!!

So Clark when are you coming back? (I need a C16 map )

Thank you very much for everyone's efforts

Demis. I am glad you liked your tune. I had to really work at it to get your car making full power. I never gave up and it finally all came together. That Boost controler was a touchy beast and with the hoses blowing off the external gate it was scary at times. I thank Turboxs for the boost based fuel cut feature on the utec! The car hit 24 psi before throwing down 390 ft lbs and hitting cut when the line blew off.. After that was fixed the car was tuned and it was off to bed.

We had several Stock turbo stg2 cars over 300whp. Kids dont try that at home on pump gas.

It was a long day for sure. One of the longest. I think I still have Carbon monoxide poisoning. Pampena is a great place and the guys helped out alot but they need to get the ventilation fan in the ceiling working asap.

I would love to come back out. Lets start the planning now. This time I would suggest we run 2-3 days... maybe a half day on friday and then all days on sat and sunday. This way I can have some breaks between cars and we can fit everyone in and fix issues. Tuning for 15-16 hours is a killer.

Really nice to see so many satisfied customers in one day. Clark you should move here and open a shop on the beach. Then we could oil up girls for 15-16 hours. lol

Hey clark,

Seriously HUGE thanks for coming up here. Even though i was unfortunate and wasn't able to be tuned because of boost creep (think silver STi, 20g...etc), I had enjoyed my high of exhaust fumes and engine noise and was proud to hear that Demis put down good numbers as well as a few others.

However, after talking to you about which route to take, i'm going to be ordering the ultimate racing uppipe with a 44 tial. Once you said that 20-30whp can be had from changing that alone and without the headaches of irregularity in boost, i was sold. SO, you best be coming back here VERY soon because i'll have a nice package for you to take advantage of.

Nice meeting you and hope to see you soon,
Tom

P.S.- I'm thinking end of may, june??

Hi Tom.. Yeah. Boost creep sucked. You should post that graph so people can see what its like. Even with the boost controler at 11 psi and holding 11 psi during the pull it would run to 24 psi at the top end. It stopped me from tuning the car on pump gas.

The UR pipe and Tial gate will make a huge difference. The creep will be gone and I normaly see 20-30whp gains when the gate is dumped to the ground outside the exhaust system.

May sounds good for me. There is a huge demand for tuning and I am pretty busy. Cant wait to get out there again though!

If anyone wants to get ahold of me you can email me or send me a PM. Just like always.

West005, Thats pretty funny! I happen to be watching Dumb and Dumber on my DVR right now while I write my EFI tuning articles and support documents.

Thanks for the tune Clark. My car pulls much harder across the line. 244/252 for a Legacy with the 5EAT. Stock turbo, AVO TMIC, up pipe and HFC downpipe. My curves are much flatter. I gained 30whp at redline and gained 250rpm quicker spool up.

Thanks Clark and Dave for thie abilities to tune my stock silver 04 sti with a 3"catless APS and Cobb AP to put down 304.14awhp and 328.01 awtq! Than car actually drives smoother and gets better gas mileage. Very satisfied with the results. Pampena should really get the exhaust fan and dyno adj. issues worked out, especially if your planning on coming back.It must of been torture being there till 12:30,I left with a headache @ 5:30. Pampena should also get stadium seating and the maps/curves /hp#'s should be projected on the wall so everyone watching can cheer lol!
Go get your lungs cleared out! You probably knocked a couple years off your life expectancy!

Yes. Carbon monoxide is no joke. I have seen some tuners and my recent working with Race teams use Masks. I will probably have to get one. Normaly with good airflow in the building there is no need. But alot of times its pretty bad. When I tune with Race teams we sometimes run cars/engines at 1-2 hours straight which really produces ALOT of C.O.

Your car was a pleasure to tune. Alot of you guys have not had the pleasure of driving a 300+ whp Stock turbo car. In talking with some of you it was interesting to find that many thought it was not going to happen Two mild mod Stock turbo sti's on pump gas made it over 300whp. The only one that did not was a car that had a downpipe cat and alot of HARD miles on it.
