Default The Lone Scooby at Watkins Glen with the Bimmer Boys

I went to the Ultimate Driving School under the BMWCCA this weekend. Lots of fun and great people... Too bad you can't see the smile on my face!

A few mod rundowns for those interested:

DMS Gold
Kartboy shifter
Larry's CAI
Slotted cadmium plated rotors
Porterfield R-4S brake pads (track pads)
WRX brake ducts
A few other goodies here and there....

Looks good, Tom.. Hey, BTW, do you still want to paint a few parts Silverthorn sometime? I need to do my grill, and possibly the full STi V6 kit that's still stock black for now.

In case you don't remember me, you helped me with my V5 suspension install.

Well you can't really tell but this is a rather late apex turn. The Bimmer is in way early here. I don't know whose line in/out of the turn was actually faster though. All I know is that I never saw the rearend of his car

Default Painting...

ff7, umm I might be painting soon (before Dec)... I am hopefully getting an aluminum hood before too long. And I need to paint my sideskirts and brake duct intake casings. I'll let you know when I get ready to do that stuff

Cool!!! What level were you in? A co-worker of mine was there also. He was probably in the advanced group with his M3.

BTW, Porterfield R4S's are the street version, not track pads.

I was in Class D. I was told I am not allowed to play with them anymore though. I have to move to class C.

I am using the R4-S pads as MY track pads. I didn't want to afford the R4 pads. They are quite a bit more money. I am using the KVR Carbon Fiber pads for the street. My comments between the two are that the Porterfields provide much better stopping power but at a higher temperature. The KVR's are a well rounded pad but lack the braking nut of the Porterfields...
