Before they made 04 and 05 specific accessports, they used to be one and the same. So they probably just didnt change the sticker.

i have an 04 ap on my car. Just update the maps. I think the only major update for the 05's was the v 1.22 or 1.3 map. Had to do with some cvn number i believe.

There's always this from Cobb to assure that your AP is suitable for the 2005 WRX:
http://www.accessecu.com/support/MY05_WRX_update.pdf

BTW, it's important to remember that when you divorce the AP from your 2005 WRX, your ECU will show that it's an automatic transmission ECU. Good luck!

So you are saying that if I unmarry my accessport to bring the car in for dealer service the ECU will clearly show it has been tampered with?

Yes, if your 2005 WRX is a manual transmission. Check out http://openecu.org/viewtopic.php?t=393.

No. It can't be fixed until there are separate AccessPorts for auto and manual.

Sorry Jon, but the issue can be fixed. There are seperate AccessPorts for different transmisions on only a few cars. (just the 2.5's)

Change the ECU indetifier in your map manager, Then simply flash a base map.

This will update your ECU to whatever you decide, Doing this will also change the revert to stock feature.

Edumication, ahh.
That doesn't fix the issue. All it can possibly do is shift the issue to generating an invalid Calibration Vehicle Number, and the CVN can be read by any decent scan tool.
