Default need your opinion

ok so before anyone tells me to research this before posting....I DID..a little lol..i read the unabomers forum on it and it was great. but i am still unsure of what to do.

basicly i have a 2002 wrx with tbe. final product i want a wrx that can do 270-300 whp but not push the limits of the car b/c its my daily driver. i know cobb ap stage 2 is great and ecuteck is great. but what do you guys think i should get? i want to get ecu upgrade soon so i can have a better driving wrx. cobb website has some nice avg numbers showing for stage 2 are they accurate?....then i want to save up for tmic or fmic (prob tmic b/c i like the stock look better and shorter pipes), turbo (not sure what kind maybe vf39 or vf34 idk yet diff story), sti pinks, fuel pump and re-tune by a shop or get a map online. these mods i can deal with later....not anytime soon

could i get a cobb ap stage 2 for now when i get the other stuff get the street tuner..and tune it myself. but im not an expert at this stuff...yet! lol

seeing how u guys have done these upgrades already and know whats good........what do u think i should do? thanks for the help

Basicly which do u think would be better for what i want...ecuteck or AP?

Bot ECUtek and AP+ST are good mediums. It depends on what you want to do as well. If your going to go straight to turbo upgrade, then get an ECUTek tune. If you want to do things in stages, I would go with the AP. As for you not being familiar with the software or how the car works, I would suggest you get a protune instead of buying street Tuner and doing it yourself.

For you, I would get a AP, go stage 2 untill you decide on the Turbo upgrade.

The alternative is to get an ECUTeck tune for your mods now and then get another tune for your turbo in which it will be more expensive for 2 tunes.

If you are taking it in steps get the Cobb AP. You can run the stage two cobb maps and when you upgrade your fuel system and turbo you can get a protune or PDXTuning maps for your setup.

Be careful looking into the VF turbo's, very inconsistant. (They werent until IHI outsourced alot of manufacturing)

Cobb is working on a 16G map right now, Maybe you should look into that setup

I just saw where you are located. I would recommend that when you get to stage 4 you get a dyno tune. This can be hard in your area because there are not many shops that can give you a good dyno tune. If you go with Ecutec you will have to find a local vendor to flash your ECU in your car or you have to send it out. You can buy the Cobb AP and get a remote tune which would be the next best thing to a dyno tune. The Cobb AP will not require you car to be down and allows for the user to buy custom maps and load them on their own car at any time they want.
