Default Any tips for a DIY steering rack bushing install?

I downloaded the movie someone posted already. I have the whiteline bushings.

Anything I need to worry about as far as putting it back together again? I heard the drivers side was a PITA to get at and replace, but I will have about 30mi to go to get an alignment when I'm done....I don't want to rip the wheels off or something on my way there.

Are you sure that you need an alignment after changing the rack bushes? Seems like all they would affect is the toe, but they would affect it in equal parts, so if anything, it seems like you would just have to change the steering wheel position back to center. When I changed mine I noted no change in the steering wheel geometry, however.

They aren't that bad to install. Drivers side you just have to kinda snake into position. No special tools are necessary.

Interesting. I was told that bushing replacement = alignment...but I was told that by a general mechanic not a subie person so maybe its that way w/ other cars?

I'll give it a shot this weekend and see. Thanks for the reply
