Default Married AP - options please

Hey Guys - I bought an AP on ebay and when it arrived at my house it happens to be married, even though the seller said it wasn't. The bad news is since i gave him a money order i can't get my money back easily, and he is just blowing me off at this point.

What do you guys suggest i do? Is it true Cobb charges $400 to unmarry it for me? And has anyone here done that?

I could have bought a new one for less if i had known this was going to happen!

Thanks guys!
Erich

1- leave negative feedback
2- contact ebay and authorities
3- call Cobb
4- send AP to Cobb to be unmarried for 350 bucks.
5- profit??

Thanks for the reply! I did leave negative feedback, as have a bunch of others who dealt with him recently. I have contacted ebay and i may get some money back from them, we'll see if that happens.

I will call cobb in the next few weeks and see what they say. Any other ideas?
Thanks!
Erich

COBB will charge you exactly $395 to unmarry it from the other ECU and reprogram it with the newest maps. I have this directly from Trey Cobb and there is no flexibility on this price.

Ask me how I know...

The seller didn't have any recent negative feedback at the time of the auction. Since the auction closed 4 other people have left negative feedback. It seems like he scamed a bunch of people at once. It took him 3.5 weeks to even get me the AP.

So there is no other options out there besides sending it back to Cobb?

$150 is a bit stiff. The going rate is under $100 unfortunately.

Again, ask me how I know...

No way to simply or legally unmarry it other than sending it to COBB.

That's good to know. I didn't know there was much of a market for a used/UNMARRIED AP around here. I may have to just do that.

Thanks for all the input everyone, i appreciate it!

I just went through the same thing man. I feel badly for you. Contact ebay, or if you used a credit card file with them. They should be able to get you your money back. I just got my AP back from cobb today. $395 to fix it. Good luck bro.

Very sad to hear of your bad ebay experience, i just recieved my accessport, also used, im always skeptical of people selling used accessports on ebay, but it works great. Just remember to not use money order again, it just is not safe.

You are very right about not using a money order. The only reason i did it because the AP was going really cheap and the seller said it was unmarried. But to protect myself from this in the future i will only be using paypal and credit card.
