Post I'm sick of people trying to tell me these will fit!!

Recently I went to High Performance Tire to request a price quote on a set of 18X7 +50 wheels for my 99 GT. They replied saying that 18X7.5 +45 would be an optimal size for my car. I told them that I currently have 17X7 +47 that rub the fender well in the rear like crazy when I have people in the back seat. They sell Motegi wheels and their size recommendation was based on a listing from www.motegiracing.com.

Let me know if I am thinking about this wrong. My thinking is this. I currently have 17X7 +47 wheels that rub. What I need is a 7 inch wide wheels with at least a +50 offset and a tire with a narrow section width. If I used a 7.5" wide wheels with a +45 offset wouldn't that just take away about .35" of fender clearance and take away about .25" of clearance on the inside from the suspension?

Why are they telling me they think this will work?

Ask P T Barnum!! They're in business to SELL!
Doesn't sound like you should trust 'em; if your "alarm's goin' off" you're probably right! 'nuff said.
