Question Reasonable dealership in MA?

I'm looking information on which dealerships in MA (Norwood, Natick, Worcester, Arlington, etc.) are recommended and which I should avoid. Unfortunately, I can't spend a lot of unnecessary effort this time around (have a 14 month old).

Which dealerships tend to come off MSRP for a WRX Wagon?
Which offer free loaner cars when in for service?

Thanks..

-Craig

I had good luck at Natick Subaru. Visited several dealerships and they were the most willing to negotiate on a reasonable and fair price. Other subaru dealerships in the area tried to nickle and dime me for everything. They were also willing to let me test drive both the WRX and 2.5rs for comparison. They also offer loaners for service.

outrun,

I am looking around a WRX right now, but a sedan. I haven't bought one yet, but so far CarMart and Ira have been pleasant experiences. They seem to be willing to make a very fair and resonable deal, about $250 over invoice.

On the other hand, Cityside is a pain. They salesman just wants a down payment on any car, so it seems.

Let me know how you make out.

If you want to make the trip, you can usually find what you want at Bertera in Springfield. They're the distribution point for a lot of New England (or so I'm told) and have first crack at the Subies shiped up here.

I bought my 01 RS at Natick. The free loaner is if you spend (not warantee work...) $200 or more. They have checked my clutch for free, fixed the AC (plug not plugged in) in about 20 seconds for free. I bought it for $275 over invoice. I searched dealer inventory using Subaru New England's website, then got quotes from all the dealers that had cars, then Natick matched the lowest one that I found. Marc Soloway was the cyberspace guy when I bought (Nov 00). Can't complain. I would love a free loaner every time......Wagner Motors in Boylston does that, but had to pay $1900 over invoice for an A42.8Q, so I could rent a car quite a few times and still save some money. Natick was pretty low pressure, but I did let them know up front the price I'd pay...including document charge. That's another thing.....you can email from the Subaru New England site and ask for a price. Make sure that you ask what the (bogus) documentation charge. I've seen anywhere from $5 to $395...depending on the dealer and car make.

I went to Norwood Subaru a few weeks ago to look at a used 2.5 RS as well as a new WRX. First thing, they wanted $18,995 for a 2001 RS with 12k hard miles. The sales droid insisted on going on the test ride with me of the RS, and then commented that I shouldn't drive that hard after one hard turn to get a little feel for the car.

He also came along on the WRX test ride after debating whether he should let me drive it or not. I can understand their rationale behind supervised WRX test drives, but the guy looked like he was going to throw up any moment while in the back seat. I sure wasn't going to make my GF sit in the back.

Never got to price discussions, so can't comment on that.
