Default UTEC problem, MODE:STOCK SWITCH:5

Went to the track last night and my UTEC didn't seem to want to be there so it threw a fit like a 3y/o kid and did its own thing.

First run sucked. Figured I was just out of practice. Noticed UTEC was saying MODE : STOCK SWITCH : 5 on the dashboard screen. Didn't understand that, but didn't know what to do either. Left it be.
Second run sucked. Realized something wasn't right and went poking around. Dashboard was still saying MODE : STOCK SWITCH : 5
Went driving around at the track to the concession stands and whatnot while they were clearing an accident. While sitting in the staging lanes for run #3 I looked and the UTEC was saying MODE : MAP 5 SWITCH : 5. Run 3 had some great power and the car felt right for the first time that night, until I ripped the shifter out of the socket joint it fits into.

End of night.

Here's a quick MSPaint to illustrate the problem-

Any ideas? Why'd it do this, why'd it correct itself and how can I avoid it in the future?

Thanks,
Colin

The UTEC will show "stock" mode when the engine is not running. Only when the engine is running will it show the map it is using.

I assume you have a valid map in map 5?

regards
Pete

Hmm, ok then. Still gotta figure out WTF was going on for the first two runs then.

Yes, map 5 is my C16 & alky map.

Thanks for the help.
