has anyone done the gc8 2.5rs engine mix. putting the sti short block and stock rs heads together? and turbo charged it? i have questions of matching the parts.

A lot of people think that non-turbo heads are actually work better then turbo heads. I think they will be fine if you change the valve springs...ect. Maybe someone can give more info as to why they are better.

the block mates up the same and will work fine. but you might want to invest in pistons with a dish designed for that head. they also have a rod/piston combo at crawford that would swap into your stock EJ25 n/a block. but you wouldn't really be able to get the same performance capability as the EJ257 block as yours is not semi closed deck... BUT, it is an option.

I have a 99 2.5rs with a FAT stage 1 kit on it. In a month im getting a sti short block installed along with a new ECU. The guys at xcceleration.com told after the block and the ECU ill be able to get around 350 hp at 15-18psi. Ill let you know what happens. Ill post some pics to!! Good luck though

It's never been done, ever.
Just giving you a hard time. There's a bunch of threads in the proper forum (aftermarket forced induction) about this seet up. It's not a swap, it's an RS-T. Drop a PM to skully. He's in your neck of the woods, and can steer you towards the right people to help you out with this and get it tuned properly... |
