Default Compustar in Calgary

Hey Guys,
Looking to get a Compustar 2W900FM-AS for my '06 WRX in Calgary. I've found it at Audio Concepts on 32nd Ave. but am wondering if there are better or cheaper places to get it.
Thx.

After I moved here from Vancouver my Computstar went whacky, and the guys that installed it sent me out a new brain unit and told me who did Compustar in Calgary. It was that Audioconcepts place on 32nd as per their info.

So I go there just to swap out the brain unit for the new one. My installer back in Vancouver says 20-40mins tops. I take it in, get a phone call 30 mins later, expecting they were calling to say it was done. Nope. "It's too hard to get at" and they don't want to take a chance at messing up other components?!!!? It's too hard to get at?! I'd hope so! I don't want my alarm brain just hanging around for anyone to yank out.

So I go and pick up the car and say forget it. My installer says that Visions deals with the same alarm (rebranded under Arctic Start). They called Visions for me to make sure, and they said there would be no problem. So I take it in. 20 mins later, it's all done. No hassle, no fuss, haven't had a problem since. Great experience.

So.. Long and short, wasn't too impressed with AudioConcepts and had a great experience with the Visions (the one on 32nd as well).

I got mine installed at Derdall Designs. he did a very good install, and was really helpful. highly recommended. i cant remember what i paid, although i'm pretty sure it was over $700. but really easy to deal with and did a great job.

I got mine at Derdall as well. Cost me $530 including the install. That was a year and a half ago. I had to go back several times for install fixes. The proximity sensor still isn't working. They also couldn't hook up the turbo timer function properly. When enabled and I shift gears, some relay keeps clicking. They don't know what it is. Also, they still owe me a door bezel they have broken (apparently it's there but I forget to pick up). They also did a install on my parents Venture van, and the starter works half the time. I don't think I would go back even though they were nice to me.

Yeah, I'd suggest staying away from Derdall as well. My buddy got a Compustar alarm, but for some unknown reason they didn't have a Compustar remote for it. They gave him an Arctic Start remote, but it doesn't work half the time.

I got mine in 2003 for $580 out the door. Got a bonus remote as well. Go to K&N Auto. It's located on 17th Ave SE between the old Hub Oil and Husky gas station, inside the strip mall. Never had a problem with my Compustar.

Way back when I had a Celica, they started doing installs, looked like they were doing a good job.

When I bought my Legacy, I asked the same girl that initially got her Celica done and she said Derdall is hit and miss.. sometimes if they're in the mood they'll do a good job, if they're not, it'll be quite shoddy.

Don't think I'll risk going there.. I had my Celica done in Edmonton by FX Audio. It was pricey, but it worked great.

crap...i just sold one for $120, lol. I pulled it out of my g35 coupe as it went wonky due to a bad install (it stopped my car from starting, unlocking, and more). The guy who bought it used to install them and said the unit itself was in fine shape and it works no problem in his escalade that he installed it on.
