You could do a complete STI swap for that.

I wish I had your issues. $15k? Do whatever you want for a swap, and pay someone to do it for you...

I have yet to get any interior pieces on the wrecked ones we buy... We do the complete drivetrain swap for 15k installed, but don't include interior as we never get the interior with the donor car.

are you doing the swap yourself? paying someone to do it? you have connections to anyone that can source engines? what kind of power are you looking to achieve?

my suggestion:
EJ207/257/205 (probably 257 since is cheaper than the 207 but a lot better than the 205)
USDM 6-Speed with DCCD
Rear Brembos
Front Brembos
and some suspension

and Call it a day. thats if you were to be doing the swap yourself. otherwise i think that might just push you past your 15k if you have someone else do the labor.

thats just me if i had 15k

Driving down to Washington, the STI drivetrain can be bought for 12,500. Complete Engine, Stock Exhaust, Transmission, Wheels, Brakes, Axles, Control Arms, Struts, Complete Wiring Harness, Driveshaft, Rear Diff, Crossmembers front and rear, lateral links, DCCD Switches, DCCD Controller, and ECU.

Install (Including bolting everything in, and all wiring necessary to make it function and appear like everything came in the car from the factory) will run you around 2,500 at Pacific Import Auto in Tacoma.

That's because your question is so vague that I couldn't even begin to guide you towards what you want. I don't even know what options you are considering/have access to up there. How's the car going to be used? How much power do you really want out of it? Etc. Etc. I could have made a crack about how the search button must be broken again, because this question has been asked 1 million times. But instead I figured a little subtle sarcasm would be fun. I'll help you make up your mind, but I need a little more of a direction to run in, especially since you are working with a budget 2-3 times bigger than most people attempt to do a swap with...

for 15k you should be able to buy a rs +complete sti driveline ... but then you would have to do the work youself ...

Ditto. These guys are growing a very strong reputation for quality work. If you can't send your car there, I'm sure there's a good swap shop in Vancouver, Seattle or Portland. Snoop around.

And yeah, the USDM STi drivetrain is the way to go. Uber strong and reliable, mods to the sky, widely available parts, and you'll probably pass emissions if they do them in AK.

you got 15k to spend on a car....try a downpayment on a house, much better investment. Assuming you have the credit/income.
I blew that kind of cash when I came home from the army, took me almost three years to save up for a house downpayment again.
