Post Kg/mm Spring on Stock shocks?

Hi all, I have a 92 legacy Turbo in Toronto, One of the Imperza owner sells his used Japanese Kg/mm Springs to me. But I will go for stock shocks since I have to find a good shocks which good for Road rally and daily drive!!
Does any advantage or disadvantage for just replace springs without new shocks?

...on my '97 Legacy GT and '98 Impreza RS I have found the stock struts to be underdamped with respect to the Eibach springs (somewhat stiffer than stock)which caused some problems (adverse tire wear) and is generally annoying (bouncing down the road / around turns) Ideally the springs / struts should be better matched. I had to go the KYB/AGX (adjustable) on both cars to fix it. I guess it depends on how much stiffer the new springs are. I've not heard of nor am familiar w/ the Jap kg/mm springs.

There are several kg/mm brand spring sets with differing rates/lengths, they all tend
towards the really stiff rally/race style springs out of Japan so I wouldn't recommend using them with stock struts at all...

For a daily driver I would use a set somewhat less stiff than a kg/mm.

Question

What do you mean by kg/mm - surely this is just the spring rate, and my standard springs are 2.5 - 4 kg/mm front and 1.7 - 3.5 kg/mm rear

there's a brand/company called "kg/mm" also sometimes referred to as "KGM"...

a looksie into a Hyperrev will reveal some pretty whacked out english phrases/words used in Japan to brand/name their products...

the drop sounds about right, the 2nd gen
legacy kg/mm springs I have specs for are nearly 60% stiffer. BF series springs won't differ by much. If your roads are
smooth and you like a stiff ride maybe they'll work for you?

Ben, don't bother with stock or even standard replacement struts, you won't be happy. The KYB/AGX's are the best bang for the buck and the damping rates are well suited to the early Legacy's, even with stock springs. I didn't bottom once in the two 'brisk' TSD rally's I was in with the struts set at 3 front and 6 rear.
