Default Random question about AP that i always wanted to ask but never did...

Yo guys!
I've had my AP for like 6 months or something on my 05 WRX wagon, and for some reason the Econo map never really flashes. I've tried a few times uploading it, and it takes a few minutes to do so, but after its done, i'll check the current map and it will still be on the last map i left it on. I've changed between stock and stg 1 and stg 2 a few times, and they all work fine.
Any input?
Thanks,
Tre

i'm pretty sure the current map always shows your current base map. one sure way to tell is to read the live boost when in econo mode, it should be much lower than target boost for any other map (other than valet). if all else fails, just try to add the newest version of the map from the website and replace the one you've got.

I always thought that the econo map and the valet maps are realtime maps which means you flash them over the basemap. So you are running the realtime map (econo/valet) but the basemap is still on the ECU (stock, stage 1, stage 2) so the AP reads the basemap. I'm not to sure about this, you should check that out with Cobb.

Yes the AP will only display your current BASE map, not realtime map.

This may be slightly OT but what is the difference between the base map and the realtime map? I just got my AP and wanna get this all sorted out before i start messing around. I understand that you load a base map onto the ECU but how does the realtime map change if the base map always stays the same? I dunno the manual that came with the AP didn't really do a great job of explaining what the difference was. If there's a thread for this already i appologize and please direct my n00b butt in that direction. THanks

The base map changes alot more in the ECU and is permanant unless you flash another basemap on it. A realtime map doesnt have all the abilities the basemap has and it can be reset using a variety of ways....

When it comes to the Cobb AP you'll definately want to be running the correct basemap. Of course you have to run there base to marry it to your ecu
