Default Sensors on my intake manifold - what are they?

I have a couple extra intake manifolds to play around with, and last night I took some pics. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what these two sensors are on the bottom of the intake...

I think the one on the left is actually a solenoid, which applies vacuum when desired to the EGR valve. Yes?

As for the one on the right, I'm not sure. The only thing I can think of is that's a MAP sensor. (FWIW, the intake is from a '97-99 DOHC EJ25D, which has a MAF intake setup).

Thanks,
Pat Olsen

Does that solonoid on the right side hook up to a metal tube that runs to the rear of the car? If so that is the evap emissions control solonoid. It purges gas tank fumes through the charcoal canister.

My car has the same things. Except there are also 2 more on the passenger side strut tower. However the 2 on the strut tower only have vacuum lines going to them, none going away like the ones on your manifold.

I suspect that one of the two on the strut tower is a Absolute Pressure sensor, as I can log Manifold Pressure and MAF Air Flow. I think the ones in your picture are actually solenoids for the EGR and Evap Emissions systems. There is another one that has a vacuum line that goes to the Cruise Control

As has been suggested, the black one is the purge control and the red one is the EGR...

You are correct on that. I did some more looking in my Haynes Manual to figure out what's what, and the one on the passenger side strut tower is the absolute pressure sensor.
