Default Anyone has Borla catback on VF30/34 with over 300whp?

Just trying to see why my car cannot make more than 261whp even at 20psi. Car made exactly the same peak whp at both 18 and 20 psi. My tuner believes that it could be due to restrictive catback and catted downpipe I have on my car. My other mods are AP, STi TMIC and Borla header.

I am wondering how much power other VF34'd cars are making with Borla Hush catback and catted DP.

not quite what you're asking but i put down 283 whp, 262 wtk on a dynojet with a Prodrive axleback:

oh yeah, vf34 + dual solenoid dtec set to 18 psi, seeing up to 19-20 for brief periods in reality.

My car put down 261whp and 272 ft-lbs @ 18psi and 261whp and 292 ft-lbs @ 20psi.

What other mods do you have?

hmm.. hopefully geting mine Pro-tuned soon. Perhaps this coming weekend if i can get it off to travel to Cobb.

I have a Helix UP & DP, Borla Hush, STi TMIC, along with recently installing the VF34, Pinks, and FP. I was pretty dissappointed with the lag increase, so hopefully a pro-tune will help that out. It is growing on me tho.

What dyno are you tuning/measuring this on? Which catted downpipe? What octane gas?

I don't think the VF30/34 turbos do much past 18psi, so that might be why you aren't seeing any more power.

I don't think I've seen any dyno charts of Protuned VF30/34 making 300whp. Most people are pushing around 275-285 on pump gas. I know this doesn't help you figure out the problem, but I don't think you are off by as much as you think.

it depends on the dyno and what it reads like, most dynos in the norcal dyno vf30/34's around 235-240whp on stock tmic's and up to 270whp on fmic's and other supporting mods. The borla hush is not holding you back at all. There are cars running borla hushs that have over 450whp (external wastegate though) and then i've seen a few 350whp+ setups on internal gates. If you want more power get better gas in the car or a bigger motor/turbo.

bren wrx, your car is a factory freak. That's why you are making 300whp with stock TMIC and intake.
