Talking Do you take your WRX off road?

This past Saturday, after it rained some that morning, I recalled this new development that was still being landscaped near Concord Mills. I went over to this pretty large recently leveled dirt field and discovered they had scraped what looks to be a round-a-bout in the middle. I took my 06 in the mud for the first time that morning and a make shift mud skid pad. Needless to say my car got a thick coating of mud on it. My friend thought I was crazy cuz this car has like 3k miles on it and I got it about 2 months ago. The field was mostly loose dirt with the occasional drain pipe sticking up, but was fairly safe to drive on. How many of you take your WRX in the dirt/mud?

Used to a lot, until I killed a baby palm tree. I just couldn't live with myself after that. That, and I realized that if it had been a full grown tree, I would be out a daily driver. Haven't done it since.

My BF use to Rally his WRX...and he let me do it once. Needless to say we haven't been to a Rally since. Something about fog light covers flying off and getting lost in the mud.

Auto Cross FTW

Way to go Steph....you gotta ruin it for everyone don't ya. That's okay, at least Justin's still on the original tranny and engine.

Default Yo

I took my WRX off road quite frequently especially when I went mountain biking. I took my STI off road twice and it is now very reserved as I got way too many dings and scratches. I think it'll be fine once I hit 100K+ miles.

Well, here's my entry. This is what my car looked like at the end of Rally New York 2006. I was codriving in my first ever rally. But get this: the rally car was a VW Scirocco! My son was crewing for us and decided to show the other two members of our crew how my car performs in a mud field next to the service area while they were waiting for us to return. The rally car was cleaner than my car!

My parents grounded me this year after they found "large amounts of grass clumps under my car"....

You guys are making me sorry I went to the 450 pound spings & coilovers I'll have to be satisfied with the Interstate on ramps and my r-comps...

I think when the coilovers go out for re-builds this summer that I'll be breaking other parts in a few local Rally-x's.

Cheers,
JD

I used to, before I lowered it and got 18's....however, I am thinking about getting some rally tires for my OEM wheels just in case I get the urge again.....

I do dirt, but no mud. I don't like having a coat of dried mud under the chassis.
