News Driver'S Image EJ20 Wagon Goes 10's!!!!!

We took my Ej 20 Wagon back to the strip today and posted a 10 second time. Mind you; this is a wagon, with an Ej20 in it, fully streetable running on 18" wheels and tires. The car has full door panels, dash, stereo, and glass. Muffler and passenger seat were removed for the track. The heads, cams, and motor are stock ( does have pistons and rods) The car has ONLY been tuned at the track and on the street so we DON'T have dyno numbers. Our guess would be right around 500whp

Today's set-up:

2002 Ej 20 Wagon
Driver's Image tuned by "Vinnie"
AEM EMS
1000 cc injectors
Aeromotive Pump
116 Octane Race gas
Magnaflow regulator
Ported STOCK intake manifold
INNOVATIVE gt-61 Turbo @ 28 PSI
Driver's Image up-pipe
Driver's Image Down Pipe
Driver's Image Nitrous Kit
Greddy Header
Apex Blow off valve
Blitz FMIC w custom piping
Ngk 7's
STOCK ignition and coilpacks
Clutch Masters Clutch
RA Cryoed Gear-set
STOCK axles
STOCK rear end
Ground Control Coil overs
Kyb Shocks
Agency Power Crank Pulley
AEM alt Pulley
AP Front 4 piston Brake kit

Best 3 passes today:

11.2 @ 125.5
11.0 @ 125.6

10.9 @ 125.9 ( time slip will be scanned and attached next reply)

The track sucked but I managed to pull a 1.65 with a tiny bit of spin. The car is running amazing and we can't believe the drive-line is staying together.

I, as the owner of The Driver's Image in Skokie, Illinois would like to say thanx to all who have helped me put this car together over the last couple of months.....Bean, Gary, Jose, Damir, and of course Vinnie. Vince and I have the tune-up amazing and I can't thank him enough for all his work. Vince is the master with the AEM and I thank him for all of the hard work he has put into this car. Also, I'd like to thank Andy with the blue wrx ( you know who you are) for lending me the wheels to try a taller tire out!! THANX ANDY

We will go faster with the 2.0 I promise!!!! (going back to the strip this or next weekend depending on weather!) With a "pinch" more spray and a 1.55 60 foot the car SHOULD run 10.6 or so

Gregg

10.9 @ 126!!! Ej20 WAGON POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the slip.

I think we can give it a pinch more spray, and a drag radial It spun the tires in 2nd gear until we got into the better prepped lane.

Congrats Gregg, Vince, and Staff over at Drivers Image on a job well done. I have been following Gregg and the Drivers Image for the past few years now and there progress with the WRX and STI'S has been amazing. If I am not mistaking this in the first 2.0L in the ten's. I know there are a bunch of 2.5's and 2.6's but I think Drivers Image has the only 10sec 2.0l please correct me if I am wrong.

Man that is awesome guys!! I had wondered myself how the EJ205 would work with a reasonably built bottom end and a big turbo. How are you guys spraying it...what I mean is front half, back half, out the hole, or all the way?

Again, great run!!

Oh yeah, I did want to add, I realize there is way more to a 10 second 2.0 than what I mentioned above, tuning a biggie! Congrates to the entire gang!

Which clutchmasters clutch, if you don't mind me asking?...thanks

Trey

congrats gregg and vinnie!!

i believe this is the fastest 2.0L run in the US. RED WRX from puerto rico has run a 10.879 on his ej205 2.0L.

Trey we are actually testing a prototype clutch for clutch masters....it is basically the Stage 3 they now offer but with a diff material....

It should be in production soon......we have made about 25 passes with it.. It is a great piece that I would recommend to any Subie owner that is making over 400 whp WITH a built trans!!

We're going to try to get to the track one more time before it closes. Hopefully, we'll be able to get a 1.5 60 foot....We will run a bit more boost and a "pinch" (as Vince calls it) more spray.

I am confident the car will run 10.5 or 10.6 with this set-up. At this point the car will be pretty much at it's full potential with it's current set-up. We already have plans for the car over the winter:

Custom made intake manifold ( Gregg and Vince designed and built by Vince)

Innovative gt66 Turbo (same turbo as was on my Civic )

4 inch down pipe

New up pipe

Msd ignition

Battery to trunk

Drag radials

This should help us in the quest for nine's in our 2.0!!!!

100% NO!!!! Unless I break my trusty 2.0.....but I like being the underdog with the much smaller motor. If it goes I'll think about it.....but till then NO WAY.

I'd love to see what this car would do with a set of those cosworth heads!!!!

Gregg

Love the turbo setup. Is that a custom setup or is that a production kit?

Also why don't you put your hood scoop back? You can get cooler air to the turbo.
