My money is on 11.5 at best. Not only is tonight a hot night, but high hp cars are very hard to drive fast.

With numerous runs on numerous nights i bet he could break high 10's.

Just spoke with Austin. The car just trapped 101.49 mph through the 1/8th. Its having some det issues in 4th and 5th so it hasn't gotten a full run through all the gears and there is a long wait. Freakin smokin through the 1/8th. I'll post some more when I hear asap!

101.49mph, if he can shift fast into 5 gear he can get a 10 second run. If it holds.

I am aware that they SRT4 is a very stout and capable piece, and the stock engine is not far removed from what is used in the factory backed drag racing applications.

Truth here though is that there aren't too many people pushing things over on this side as much as there are even at the SRT4 camp (and I do understand as well that $$ is a huge factor), so how the heck do we know just what the engine is capable of? It is a new engine (as opposed to the SRT4's engine which has been available for public consumption in Dodge Stratus sedans in South America for a eons now.

Not too long ago, the thought of achieving 500whp on the stock block was unheard of an unthinkable, until Owl made that much power on a stock block with the Kingpin 35r kit. Popular opinion then was that it would not last a month at those power levels. As far as I know, he ran the car for well over 10K miles until he sold the car.

I still think it is too early to know just exactly what the EJ257 will make, and for how long, since there aren't many people pushing the envelope (again, I totally understand why).

Soooo many different factors come into play on the racetrack..its not even funny.

I'm sure the P.R. guys have made many trips out to the tracks before any fast times were hit...but what we hear about are the FAST passes.

Thanks for sharing..getting a car fast takes alot $$$..and R&D..not an easy process.

Last night was alot of fun... but after one full pass we were asked to not run again. I really know that if Austin had a couple chances to make some full passes and if we made a few small changes the car will go into the 10's. Last night at the track we were having some spark issues during the long 4th -5th gear pulls, as the high boost was blowing out the spark. Again had we had a chance to gap down the plugs and make another run the mph would have improved as would the et.

All in all I am very suprised that this motor is still runing perfect, as I drove the car back to the shop after all these dyno runs and a night at the drag strip. Its unfortunate that we will be removing the stock block as I feel we aren't quite done pushing the limits yet, but as they say we must move on to bigger and better things.

On a percent based guesstamation... At what percent do you feel the motor is at, at like say 500 whp? On like a duty cycle percentage... but for the motor.

Ah, just got home after my round trip to TopSpeed/Atl. I had a great time last night, terribly frustrated with some top end issues that turned out being a fouled plug. My car would scream through the 1/8 mile, consistently trapping 101mph+ but would sound like the 4th of July in 4th/5th gear. I ran a few 12.0/12.1 @ 90mph .

here's the slip for my 11.44 @ 126mph. My car was still hesitating in 4th and 5th gear.

what was the e.t. in the 1/8th? 101 mph should be around a 7.0? with the kind of 60 foots he is cutting....

@at 590 wheel horsepower, he should be trapping at least 130+ mile an hour, what is the problem with the set up?

sounds like he is killing the 1/8th mile, but falling off up top.

thanks guys

^^ Uhh the timeslip is right there..... It says in the 1/8th it was 7.467 and the 60' is 1.7. And it has already been said the car was having issues with the plugs and the high boost.......

Awesome job Austin!!! Your setup keeps getting better and better.
