Tray, thanks for capturing everything on tape! I know everyone was routing for me to blow it up, but she refused to let go. Also, I heard you guys had a fun time with my car driving it back to the shop . My stock block will officially reside on an engine stand in my garage as a novelty item

did you change anything partwise from your 11.6 run? just woundering how you picked up 90hp/40tq, im assuming the 5 more psi? was this just meth and 93? and was this on your 18s again?

It is posts like this that completely stops me in my tracks with the plans that I have. Those numbers are CRAZY! I'm looking to put down a safe and reliable 400-450 in my Wagon with a 2.5. I didn't until recently even consider not getting a built block. With numbers like these on stock blocks and my "small" power goals..... makes me wonder.

Great job guys. Craziness.

no new parts were installed, just a tune on race gas. On my previous 11.6 run I was having the same top end hesitation problems. all runs were on the 18inch enkei rpf1's.

we really didnt get to spend a lot of time with my lgt, but after a little tuning we ended up around 240/251, and it's a world of difference

Thatís very nice and impressive but I wonder why everyone thinks that they can do the same thing to their car if you did it. Just because this engine held 590HP doesn't mean every engine will. Reliability is right out of the window as well, I guarantee that if you were to drive the car like that on the street and get on it you wouldn't last more than two weeks. Fatigue plays a major, major factor when it comes to catastrophic failures and just because it didn't let go now doesn't mean that irreversible damage hasn't been done to it. The engine could suddenly let go from normal driving and no boost just because it was damaged from the dyno and track runs made at 33PSI. So moral of the story is: don't go on believing that all 2.5L STI blocks will do this. Either way, very nice numbers, it just sucks that they kicked you off the track before you could get everything out of it. Now letís see some numbers with the COBB block.

Way to go Austin, can't wait for you to get the car back down here and play. I know I can't keep up now, but maybe I can keep up with the LGT. Us slow guys can't play with those numbers you put down with the STI.

Nice work guys!

Much thanks to Austin for pushing the stock block; tons of passes and many thousand street miles at 500 whp and now passes at ~600 whp.

^ haha, thanks! I'll take you up on that next time I'm up at TopSpeed. I'm going to put my stock block on it's own engine stand and keep it as a conversation piece. I might take on the project of rebuilding it as a backup.
