Question GT struts/shocks same as L, etc?

Was looking through my parts correlation book and noticed that only the Outback has a different part number for shocks and struts - the L, LS, LSi, GT, and Brighton all share parts from 95-99 (sedan and wagon are the same, as well). Is this common knowledge? I know I wasn't aware of it... I assume the springs are different? How does one tell?

Thanks...

Yes all the struts are the same on the Legacys onlything different are spring rates... GT has firmer springs than the L.

Are the springs all drop-in? I can't get part numbers for springs, unfortunately... are the sizes the same, and just the rate varies?

You could get the L, but you would only get a 3.90 axle ratio on the 5spd vs 4.11 for a gt 5spd.

A 3.90 Final Drive ? Depending on where you live, I think that would be a tremdous advantage to have LEGS. Sure you might not accelerate as fast, but you could cruise comfortably at 80-90 MPH without sucking back so much gas...

How many revs ar you pulling at 70 MPH ?

Question

When I was looking to buy my Soob, I asked the parts guy at the dealer if the MY 01 L and the GT had the same springs...according to his computer they are, only difference that he mentioned was a stiffer rear sway bar on the GT vs. the L. That combined with the L stepping up to the EJ25 cinced my decision to forego the power everthing of the GT, save some $$$ and buy the L

Just got back from Home Depot with the family. Here is the RPM vs. Speeds
60mph = 2450rpm
70mph = 2800rmp
80mph = 3300rpm
90mph = 3600rpm
This was on stock RE92 205/60 R15 in the families MY 01 Legacy L with auto box
