Default H&R or Eibach?

Hi! I'm about to buy parts to change suspension on my Legacy GT 98 sedan. I'm planning on buying KYB GR2 struts and now i need to know what could be best to install with them. H&R or Eiback lowering springs?

Also any recommandation on any other parts that i should change at the same time?

Thanks

I have the combo of KYB AGX's and Eibach's and I love it. AGX's and Eibach's for the win!

The Impreza (MY93-01) AGX struts and I reused my old tophats. They will fit with no problem but next time I have any work done to my suspension I will most likely replace the stock tophats. I can get the part numbers for the struts if you want.

I used GC8 agx's and re-used the tophats.

Oh, and Whiteline springs

I've heard better things about the ride for H&R.

H&R Springs are firmer and perhaps provide a better controlled ride. Perhaps best for all-out performance.

Eibach springs are "raising rate" springs. More comfortable in day-to-day use, although when compressed they will firm up, and provide decent performance.

Both of these springs perform well, as would the Whiteline springs. The choice is yours.

i had H&R sports with KYB GR-IIs on my civic, and the ride was just about perfect. if i'd had any sway bars on that car (damn DX civics!), then i would have handled like a dream. the drop is a bit low though, so be careful if you have a front lip or anything like that.

i'm actually looking at getting H&R sports again for my legacy, but this time i might go with the AGXs.

i like the h&r's probabbly because they drop more in the front making the legacy sit much more level than it used to.

Roughly how much does a full set up like the ones mentioned above cost? I guess if its not a lot the Legacy could use a new stance

i've seen prices range around $250-$300 for the H&R sports, and about $400-$600 or so for a full set of AGXs. add in about $100 or so for install if you're taking it to a shop.

i got my H&R's for $220 and my KYB GR2s for $300, they arent that hard to install yourself if you wanted but look around for best installation price.

I would say coilovers are not for everyone.

It would be important for some people to know that most coilovers require a rebuild much sooner than regular struts. I was looking at a set buy they recomended a rebuild every 15k miles.

Heres the drop i got from the agx+h&r combo. i would stick with h&r's because Ive heard whiitlines are way to low, and the eibachs colapse easily.

The drop looks great! Hmm Eibach colapse? Anyone else heard about this? I was about to buy GR2/Eibach, might end up waiting a little to be sure. Btw thanks to everyone who replied to this post

Here in Quebec, Canada. Roads are in a very bad shape... lot of holes. Is a 1.2" drop front/rear could be a problem? what about winters, any bad stories? I'm still hesitating between Eibach & H&R. Both are under 225$USD + shipping.
