I'm going to be completely useless and tell you to search, but I do remember reading how to do it on 04/05's, I would suspect it's the same or similar for an 06. It's on NASIOC somewhere.. maybe I can find it again.. brb...

ok, maybe this will help

Good luck!
Peace

well i know the way you change the buttons on the radio is the same as in that write up, its just bulb condoms. But the part that isn't the same is the display.

The new model 6 cd changers have a different kind of display that doesn't use a bulb to light it. Search for changing the clock from green to red. The solutions for that, besides replacing the clock, will also apply to the display on the cd changer as they are the same type of display.

As for the HVAC, that requires a bit more work. Namely soldering on some new LED's under the HVAC knobs. I have actually done this successfully. Here is a link to the instructions that i followed to do it http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18110.

If you have any questions you can feel free to PM me and i'll do what i can to help out.

Hey, I give S202wagn credit for tell me about it. But he took the face plates off of the HVAC controls, taped them off, and painted them with candy apple red transparent model paint. I also went ahead and painted the knobs and the switch that changes from inside to outside air. It turned out great and has a nice red color. It cost like 3 bux and you can get the paint at walmart. Just make sure you remove the current green condoms. I actually went with the condoms first, but when I wasn't happy with the outlook, I decided to try it his way. When I went to pull the condoms off, they had actually melted to the bulbs.
Here's how mine turned out. Sorry about the crappy picture. I couldn't get a good shot. But color looks like the one bright red circle looks like, but over the whole thing.

scoobymods should have what you're looking for.. search for 05 sti havc. it's the same as the 06 sti... as far as the HVAC, there's nothing much you can do but to add some red LEDs.

I had green condoms on my mine. But they might have been from the previous owner.
