Question Leaky Air Shocks

Another newbie question!!

I have 90 Legacy Wagon that needs to last another year. The Neat Air ride system is great except - one of the rears is leaking air. It is getting worse - does lift back up again but is flat in 10 minutes from turn off.

Does anyone know an inexpensive repair - have a shock for sale - ??

Cool

Maybe try junk yards or tire fix-a-flat.

Subaru air suspension is a pandoras box once it starts to fail. Odds are that the other shocks aren't far behind if one is leaking. The most sensible fix is to install a set of used Legacy struts of the same model w/o air suspension. The next step up is to get the used set of struts and then swap the springs and perches on to a new set of KYB GR2 strut cartridges. Although it may seem an expensive route, by doing this you save yourself the future pain of subsequent system failures of the air suspension and you will actually be able to sell your car for what it's worth(Most informed people stay away from air suspension on Subarus)

Good luck,
Mike Corbin

So far the air suspension on my XT6 is doing ok. I worry about it daily, but what can you do?
