Default clutch question...

so, I had my clutch and flywheel replaced a couple weeks ago. This weekend, the car sat for three days. Today, the clutch works fine, but the pedal won't return all the way out. It will travel fine from the floor to the point where the clutch is engaged, but the last few inches or so, I have to put my foot behind it and kind of pop it back out the rest of the way. Any ideas on what would cause this?

I don't tthink it is air in the line, as that would affect the clutch more towards the floor, right?!? Is there a spring that needs replacing? It's not the floor mats getting in the way...

I think there is a TSB on this. I had the problem but a bit worse and spent too much having the dealership fix it. I think it is the hydrolic clutch pump or something.

Found it:

thanks, I will try this out. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow, and I will get a feel if they think the service bulliten will be something that I have to pay for, soa has to, or we split. I was thinking about the sti clutch hose anyway. I just wish this would've popped up a month from now when I had another $100 in subaru bucks...

so, is this the only idea on the clutch pedal, or have others found a different fix with it? I don't mind replacing the hose, since i was planning on getting the sti version anyway. However, I don't want to replace it and find that the problem is still there...

mine did the same thing. It was the Hydralic (slave) Release Cylinder. It went bad some how. I bought a new one from Folgers Subaru (78 to 80 Dollars) can't remember and then you just have to pump the fluide throught it till it gets tight again in the pedal. After that it worked great. Hope this is some help.

thanks, that is what the service bulletin said too. I got a new slave and hose today and will put them on tonight. A second oppinion that confirms what was said above is exactly what I was wanting to hear.
