Default Group Tuning Session in Edmonton

So...you may have heard there's an AWD dyno in E-town now...

Let's see what the Subie community in Alberta and surrounding provinces would be interested in.

I know exactly zero about the art of tuning a car, but I do know that I'd like a professional custom dyno tune

Choose as many options as you want

I would love a custom tune. If this happens it might speed up my turbo upgrade plans.

I am currently stock. I would want a baseline for comparison before I start adding goodies. That being said, there wasn't an option for "Stock Baseline Pull" in the Poll, so I will just click on the "right now" option.

Anyone asked the owner if he is prepared to rent the Dyno out and how much. If someone can get a definate OK. I'm sure I can get Jarrad from pdx to come which would cover all the engine management used here.

The Dyno owner would get first hand knowledge on ALL the EMS's used on Subaru's

Now someone go ask and quick.

I'm in for a reasonable price. Need to know how much for the dyno time including all the bells and whistles.

Count me in as well, assuming its all reasonably costed. I'm not paying $500 for an extra 5 HP.

Nice, thanks for the post. It would be great if we could get Jarrad from PDX here.

I know subracing charges $200/hour for the dyno with all the sensors. But I would home if we got a bunch of cars together we could get a better deal then that.

Hey guys,
We have a UTEC on the current shop Scooby but I think we are going to go Cobb AP on the 07 with the built motor.
We would like to host "celebrity tuner" days, it's up to the general populous to decide who they want.
I will wait until I get my "vendor" status to say much more, don't want to step on any toes.

Great!

You kinda have to go AP these days, as the numbers in the poll reflect....

Personally, I'm big on the idea of a 'celebrity' tuner to come by. Not that I think the guys here won't learn/master the art of Subie tuning, but that's just it, I'd be confident once the local guys had trained with a guy like Jarrad.

Now, most people will probably want time to amass any parts they will want to be tuned for before we bring in any uber-tuner. Maybe in the next couple of weeks the guys on the board can kinda decide what their realistic time frames would be to get ready for a 'celebrity' tune.

Sorta off-topic: I'm now wondering what stuff I might want to add that's outside of Cobb's stage 2 specs.
I'm running a typical stage 2 setup:
Gutted OEM UP-->Cobb catted DP-->OEM intermediate pipe-->STi axleback
+ I/C hoses & I/C water sprayer (DIY)

What other power mods will be worthwhile if I can tune them in for the AP?
I will be sticking with the stock turbo.

So...A bigger TMIC?

It's probably the last 'big increase' item left before a turbo swap, hey?
I've thought about a turbo inlet hose or lightweight pulleys, but those are pretty miniscule increases, if I'm to believe what I read on NASIOC. Maybe a turbo inlet, lightweught pulley, and porting and polishing everything I can (I currently know squat about P & P) will have enough cumulative effect for it to have been worth it.
What about a *gasp!* intake? Perhaps...more research is in order.
