Unhappy Changing springs/struts????

let me get some directions on how to go about taking off my brake lines from the strut so that they dont leak all over the damn place and cuase me to bleed the brakes..

subie gal.. i already got yours thanx by the way..

Well, Subie gals way is the only way to do it....cutting the bracket, bending it just enough to get the hose out. At least thats the only way that I've come across to not mess with bleeding the brakes.

I agree with the cutting/bending technique (that's what I did...a dremel works wonders in these situations). Otherwise, there really is no safe way to do it (you COULD try vice gripping the lines really tight to stop them from leaking, but, you would still have to get any air out of the lines later).

Cutting the brackets is not that bad. Invest in a dremel and it's not hard at all. Just be carful not to CUT the lines when cutting the bracket.

Question

What are you doing with your old set? are they in good condition? If so I would be interested in buying them if they don't have to many miles on them. I have a 91 Legacy and was looking to get new springs/struts because mine have seen better days.

Questoin number 2.. how exactly do you bleed the brakes? and is it time consuming/ hard?
