Default 98 OBS: Need to replace entire interior. Help.

Here it is right now:

I want to revamp/replace the door cards and the back seat. I was quoted for 10 hours @ 50 bucks an hour to re-cover the back seat. I'm considering trying to track down a V5/V6 wagon rear seat.. but then I wouldn't have the matching fabric on the door cards. There is a set of door cards waiting for me at a local junk yard out of a 2000 RS. Idealy I would just get new fabric and have someone do the back seat AND the door cards for me, but at 500 bucks for labor... eh.

I was looking at katzkin kits but I don't want leather. I wish there was something NOT leather just like it.

For the front seats, I have tacky light blue sparco evo IIs that are fairly worn. I'm trying to hunt down new covers for them but have only found one in the US.

So if you were to redo the entire interior of this car, preferably in black, what would you do? If you want more details on the car itself and why I'd go to such great lengths to give it a nice interior, go here.

TIA,
Rob

a local car upholstry shop should be able to cover that up with whatever kind of fabric/leather you want. Thats my plan.

btw, USDM drivetrain in a GC platform rocks. Mine will be complete on Saturday.

there's a guy down here in the boston area that will do an entire interior upholstry job for like $500 or something if you provide the fabric...this includes seats, carpets, headliner, the works. redobs and mumbles have used him and only say awesome things (we actually spoke about it last night)...ask them about it...

ps: i think you should take the job if it's just the money that's bothering you (but i know nothing about your industry)

haha, way to reply to both threads.

Yea, I think I'm going to see how the JDM interior will work out. PMing AY now. Otherwise the upholstry job sounds pretty nice. I might have my sparcos redone because they're falling apart and I got them for pretty cheap.

I have a SecondSkinz leather seat cover set...Its dark grey and includes both front seats, headrests and reat seats. There's also spare material to replace the fabric on the door cards. If you're interested PM me.

Reading the whole post ftw. Sparcos are a little different than stock. Thanks, though.

My entire door cards need to replaced. Previous owner had a rabid dog of some sort. They also never heard of a vacuum I guess.

bump!

Read the part about 500 bucks labor to rewrap my back seat. Is that outrageous? What should I do? I did only go to one place for a quote.

That is one funny looking interior my friend! It is, however, in VERY good condition (at least looks like it is). I say go to a junkyard and see what you can dig up in more solid colors. You should be able to find something cheaper than 500 bucks
