These guys are great, they knocked off a lotta money from a price that I was quoted from another dealership for my WRX. Really nice people and the service is great. Included a couple of options that the other dealership had for more $.

Default Service department too busy

Ya they were great when I bought my legacy in 99, but if you ever call for service it is always a one month wait. All that free Audi service must back them up. If I want to get my car serviced I end up at Liberty, but they have not been so reliable lately and I am again looking for another dealer for service. Hope you have better luck than me

They were nice sand said right off the bat invoice + 500 for a WRX
but didnt make much of an effort to find a car.

So I went to Rushneck Honda/Subaru in Tarrytown NY, paid 500 over invoice and it was zero hassle zero pressure, they didnt even push an extended warranty. great dealership : )

I am the Subaru tech there and anything I can do to help the I-Clubbers I will do.

Right now there is 1 Subaru tech, me, but soon 2.

The Subaru service dept. is Greg the service writer, and Garrett (me) the tech, but I cant handle all the work so there is a backup Subaru tech sometimes, usually a Lincoln Mercury guy, he is very good, so if I dont work on you car dont worry somebody with great experience will take care of it. The Subaru parts system isnt so good so extra time may be needed to get what your car needs.

I cant help with the price they sell car for just the service, so e-mail me with your problem or just post it.

THEMUSH do you know who ou spoke to about gtting the car?

We now have a seperate Subaru Sales Manager: Rich ext 6014 and Salesmen: Scott ext. 6025 to help you find a car. Tell them Garrett sent you.

For service see Greg at (201) 569-0977 ext. 6522, he will take care of your service. Ask for me Garrett when you are at the Service Department, I am fully trained Subaru technician, and own 2 Subarus. I know these cars.

Hey Garrett~

Do you remember servicing an Outback VDC Sedan that had WASHINGTON state plates sometime this past week?

I was concerned that on the invoice it said you guys used a LEGACY/IMPREZA oil filter. Greg had assured me that it's just written up that way but I want to make sure that you used the right filter which would be the H6/SVX filter.

See this thread.

I have both an SVX and Legacy GT Wagon(MY00). I can tell you that they do not use the same oil filters. Here is how it works, all the H-4's use the same oil filter while all the H-6's use the same oil filter. They may look the same but there is a reason why Subaru sells two different oil filters for two different applications. I would not doubt it if Subaru did not use the same threads on every car. But I do know that there is something different between the two oil filters. I suggest that you use the OEM filter that was originally designed for the H-6's and not the H-4's. I mean logically, there is a reason why SUbaru designed a completely different oil filter for two completely different engines.

The filters look more or less the same (except as noted above) but the H6's (EZ30 and the SVX) spec a anti-drainback valve in the filter the Legacy/Impreza filters don't have. There may be differences in the relief valve pressure rating as well.

supasizefries please check your private message...

and also, i was wondering when the 2002 models will stop production, do u guys at town motors know how long i have to be able to pick out the specific options I want for the 2002 wrx? I've been planning to purchase a wrx for a long time already and have a down payment prepared but my parents refuse to cosign because they want me to drive the minivan for a few more years. I'm 20 yrs old have a steady job but its one of those jobs where they don't report it to taxes (i know), would I be able to still purchase the car despite the fact I don't have official employment? If not I'll keep trying to convince my parents about it.

Also does the wrx have high insurance rates?

Thumbs up

Hi Garrett,
Great to meet you and the rest of the Town Motors Team on Sat. I'm convinced more than ever that I picked the right dealer to buy from after meeting all of you.
Here's a link that shows some pics of the lifted Bajas that I told you about. What do you think?

http://www.isrperformance.com/picturegallery1.html

Also check out Edmunds.com, Town Hall Baja site. Always an interesting bunch of people and great links to Subaru sites and pictures.
I ordered a yellow 5 speed, bed extender, upgraded speakers, tweeter kit, subwoofer, rear diff protector. mirror/compass, Dunlop Wintersport M2 tires and some other goodies.
I'll stop by when I pick it up (end of Nov) to show you. In the meantime I'll keep in touch.
